Financial Tips During a Divorce

According to the Ottawa Business Journal, they are providing some financial tips that may help couples get through a divorce.

I always tell my clients that a divorce will take longer than one expects. Often times, a person comes into my office and wants a divorce in a few months time. This is unrealistic and just not possible.

Because the court process is often slow and time consuming, the parties must wait it out and plan for their financial future during a divorce. A divorce requires parties who used to support one household, now required to support two seperate households. That on top of legal fees and court costs can really throw a wrench in the parties finances.
